On 10/9/2002 the FDA approved two sublingual forms of Buprenorphine for the treatment of Opiate Dependence.

Dr. Savariego was Certified by the DEA to prescribe Suboxone in November 2002. He has over 4 years experince treating opiate addiction with sublingual buprenorphine. Recently he was certified by the DEA to increase the number of patients he can treat at any one time to 100 patients.

Treatment is confidential and provided in the Privacy of a Doctor's Office.

Medication is prescribed and purchased at any Pharmacy. It does not have to be dispensed at a clinic. Usually covered by most insurance prescription plans.

No need to be hospitalized. It can be used for detoxification or for short or long term maintenance.  Treatment is individualized according to your needs.                                 

Dr. Savariego has been Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry with Added Qualifications in Addiction Psychiatry.

You are taken care of with respect and treatment is designed to meet your needs. Induction is done in a specially designed room that provides a pleasant, private and comfortable surroundings.

We also treat coexisting Psychiatric disorders including depression, anxiety and attention deficit disirders.

OFFICE FEES are due at the time of service. We will provide a receipt that you can submit to your insurance if services are covered and you have out of network benefits.

 BUPRENORPHINE ia a partial opiate agonist. It blocks withdrawl and craving without producing a strong narcotic high. It is considered to be somewhat safer than methadone and causes fewer side-effects.
 It can be used for DETOXIFICATION or MAINTANCE in the treatment of addiction to Opioids such as Heroin and prescription drugs like Oxycontin, Vicodan, Codeine, Methadone and others.
 DETOXIFICATION: The goal of medical withdrawl is to achieve controll of withdrawl symptoms so that the patient can fully participate in both medical and psychosocial treatment.
 MAINTANCE: The goal of maintance is to prevent Opioid witdrawl symptoms, suppress craving for Opioids, and reduce or block the effects of self administered Opioids in patients who episodically continue to use illicit Opioids. Psychosocial treatment will continue and the patient will try Detoxification when ready.
